Garmin introduces the new LiveScope 2 series — a new generation of real-time scanning sonar transducers designed for anglers who want clearer images, wider coverage, and simpler onboard installation.
The new range includes two main models:
Garmin LiveScope 2 LVS42HD Transducer and
Garmin LiveScope 2 LVS44 Transducer.
Garmin LiveScope 2 technology allows you to view fish, lures, and underwater structures in real time directly on a compatible Garmin chartplotter. In practice, the transducer sends the sonar image, while the Garmin display shows what is happening underwater in real time.

This transducer provides up to 50% more detail at short distances and up to 20% higher resolution, with smoother images and reduced sonar artifacts.
LVS42HD is suitable for fishing where fine details are essential: tracking the lure, identifying fish close to the boat, and clearly interpreting underwater structures.
In freshwater, the Garmin LiveScope 2 LVS42HD Transducer allows bottom tracking down to approx. 38 m / 125 ft.
Garmin LiveScope 2 LVS44: Extended Coverage and Long-Range Viewing
Garmin LiveScope 2 LVS44 Transducer is the model designed for anglers who need a wider coverage range and clear long-distance viewing.
This model retains the advantages of the LiveScope 2 series but is focused on fishing where seeing farther and covering a larger area is important.
In freshwater, LVS44 allows bottom tracking down to approx. 76 m / 250 ft, making it a suitable choice for anglers who want a clear image at longer distances.
If the LVS42HD is the choice for maximum clarity close to the boat, the LVS44 is the recommended option for extended coverage.

Garmin LiveScope 2 Compatibility and Installation
Both Garmin LiveScope 2 transducers are designed to work with compatible Garmin chartplotters. For a complete experience, LiveScope systems can be used together with high-performance Garmin displays, such as the GARMIN GPSMAP 1223xsv, 12″ or complete configurations such as the Garmin ECHOMAP Ultra 102sv & LiveScope Plus System w/ LVS34 and GLS10 Kit.
An important advantage of the new series is simplified installation: the transducers connect directly to a compatible Garmin chartplotter and power source, with no separate black box module required.
For sonar direction control, Garmin also offers dedicated mounting solutions, such as the Garmin Spy Pole 49″, a motorized mount that allows precise control of LiveScope transducers independently of the trolling motor.
